Very nice venue.
Food staff was a little chaotic/overwhelmed at the beginning of the show but they all got it together and delivered food to the tables to add convenience. Turned out to be a fantastic example of ordered chaos.
Seating was very nice and spaced out so your group felt like it's own little island.
Drink prices are a bit steep but that's to be expected at a venue like this so that they can maintain overhead.
New Years Eve party at $50/person. Prince tribute band. Could not understand any of the vocals due to horrible acoustics. The band used their own "crummy over-driven "speakers on stage even though the Crown has a large professional hanging speaker array on truss suspended in front of the stage. The sound was muddy with a ton of echo. For $100 per couple it was a joke with them offering "lite bites" which amounted to nothing more than cherry tomatoes on skewers with mozzarella cubes, small cubes of cheese, bbq meatballs and pork slices, and tiny cheese cake cups. Here is what was irritating. They had the lite bites set up against a short wall, which meant a very long line to get to this meager setup. They should have had a table setup that allowed folks to form two shorter lines on either side of the table arrangement. They had plenty of room to do this where they had it set up at the back of the theater. Another irritant was their $7 charge for a bottle of beer. The show was mediocre at best and ended up being pretty raunchy (I guess not the Uptown's fault but they could have chosen a much better artist for the night). Even any one of four well known local classic rock cover bands would have provided a much better entertainment value and experience. I won't be back for anymore events like this. Waste of money.
Had a great time. Watched the Dreamgirls, which was done beautifully. We had show only tickets, but I would encourage dinner/show tickets. They do have snacks/concessions, but they are minimal - they had chips, pretzels and cubed cheese, and cheesecake to order. Otherwise, there were a plethora of alcoholic beverages to choose from. They also have soda and water. The parking is a little tight and a little difficult to navigate, but we went early and didn't have too much of a problem. The snacks came out quickly once you ordered the app (they provide a QR code at the table). They weren't as good at keeping the tables cleaned up, which was not the best thing to look at but luckily it's pretty dark during the show so it wasn't as bad of an eye sore. Overall, me and my group had a great time. We will be going again for the next two shows. We are very happy that portions of the tickets and sales go to a different non-profit to help support and grow our community.
I have enjoyed every show I’ve experienced here. I highly recommend! They make it easy to order from your table by providing a barcode you can scan and place your order to be delivered directly to your table. You can even pay through the link. I also recommend their event newsletter to stay informed about upcoming and future events/shows.
Omg so cold. It's 10 outside and 52 inside. Dueling pianos is more simpatico piano, they sound great. Done common some new stuff some where did you find that? The bassist is very fun to watch. Great cocktail selections, fun dessert …
